Arterra and Fortune 421 @ Marriott Del Mar. Four Seasons Resort Aviara: A good place for kids, the Four Seasons hosts a Kid's Nite Out from 6 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., with arts and crafts, games, party favors and music. Cost is $80 per child, $70 each additional child. Vivace offers a five-course, prix-fixe menu for $180 from 6 to 10 pm., and California Bistro will serve a four-course menu, for $110, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Dinner guests can dance to live music and watch a midnight balloon drop in the Lobby Lounge after dining.

Hornblower Cruises & Events. There's nothing better in San Diego ? besides the weather ? than the sweeping vistas, and Hornblower allows you to take advantage of both. You can choose from among three cruise options: a Grand Buffet with a DJ or two Seated Galas with either a DJ or live band as entertainment. All options include champagne toasts, and menu items like filet mignon with lobster salsa, peppercorn and cognac & cream are mouth-watering just to read about.
